Purpose Statement

The job of Instructional Strategist is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program by developing instructional experience opportunities for teaching staff; analyzing data to determine appropriate groupings and interventions for students; offering advanced instruction guidance; developing enhanced teaching resource materials; providing information and/or direction to students; and promoting programs with teaching staff.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: lesson planning; instructional materials; assessment instruments and techniques; methods of instruction and training; and school safety and security practices.

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment, including using pertinent software applications; applying curriculum and instructional techniques; comparing results and conducting training; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

ABILITY is required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to  independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing a variety of complex processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: establishing and maintaining constructive relationships; adapting to changing work priorities; maintaining confidentiality; exhibiting tact and patience; and working flexible hours.

 

Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a department, large work unit, and/or across several small work units; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization’s services

 

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling,  some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires

 

Experience: Job related experience within specialized field is required.

Education (Preferred)Masters degree preferred
